As the Isle of Man’s lifeline ferry service, the Steam Packet Company is committed to supporting the community we serve. Isle of Man Arts Council
Established in 1965, the Isle of Man Arts Council exists to encourage the people of the Isle of Man to enjoy the arts whether through attendance or participation, to provide a sound and sufficient infrastructure for arts on the island and to promote Manx cultural identity.
A sponsored body of the Department of Education, Sport and Culture, it provides advice and offers funding support to a wide variety of individuals, schools, groups and venues across the community. This funding is derived from lottery duty.
The Council is made up of 8 volunteer members who are chosen for their expertise and experience within the arts, together with the Department's Minister, or a Member of the Department delegated by the Minister, who acts as the Chair of the Council.
The Council is supported by the Arts Development Team who are based in the Villa Marina Arcade. They offer help to funding applicants, process the application forms as well as promote, develop and engage the community with the arts.
